STONINGTON – Lee E. Eaton, 67, passed unexpectedly Jan. 20, 2009. He was born Dec. 2, 1941, in Little Deer Isle, the son of Stanley W. and Marie J. (Hardie) Eaton. Lee lobster fished for more than 57 years. His number one joy in life was his family. Lee was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit. Even in death, he continued to give by donating his organs. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Beverly (Mitchell) Eaton; children, Leanne Morey and husband, Dean, of Deer Isle, Joanne Oliver and husband, Danny, of Stonington, Susanne Eaton of Stonington, and Edward Eaton and wife, Dina, of Deer Isle; grandchildren, Allison Eaton, Tracey, Ryan and Steven Morey, Bethany, Meredith and Candace Oliver, Heather Bartlett, Paul Murphy and Zach Eaton; great-grandsons, Gabriel and Gideon Oulette, and Logan Eaton; siblings, Edna Williams, Sidney Eaton and wife, Julie, Alfred “Bump” Eaton, Alfred Clough and Donald Clough; mother-in-law, Jeanette Mitchell; former brother-in-law and friend, Robert Williams; many nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his fellow lobstermen, especially the fisherman at Co-Op, the morning crew at Harbor Cafe and many other friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley Eaton; mother, Marie Clough; stepfather, Alfred Clough; father-in-law, Ashley Mitchell; and siblings, Stanley “Sonny” Eaton, Elva Ames, Audrey Woods and Phillip Eaton.
