LAMOINE – Winslow R. “Winnie” Moore died Jan. 26, 2009, at home, with his family by his side. He was born April 13, 1935, in Cherryfield, to Roger and Beatrice (Beal) Moore. He joined the Air Force at 17 and spent most of it in Texas. He met his soul mate, Mabel, shortly after returning home and they were together for more than 52 years. Winslow was an automobile painter for 42 years, starting out at Ashmore Brothers in 1958. He was very good at his job and had a reputation as a great painter. He retired in 2000, but got bored, so he went to work for Napa Auto Parts driving a truck, a job he loved. He loved spending time at Schoodic Lake with his family, fishing and swimming, and riding his four-wheeler with James and Richard. He was also an avid deer hunter. He leaves four children, Deirdre, Jeff, James and Darlene; six grandchildren, Ricky, Nathan, Amanda, Teri Ann, Ian and Brigham; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Alexis. He was predeceased by his brother, John; and his beloved daughter, Dodie, who he missed very much. The service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, Back Bay Road, Milbridge, with the Rev. Ambrose Rolfe officiating. Refreshments will be available after the service. Donations in Winnie’s name may be mailed to Relay For Life, care of Deirdre Fennelly, 274 Jordan River Road, Lamoine, ME 04605.
