HAMPDEN – Rodney Brooke Anderson, husband and best friend of Faye Anderson, passed away Feb. 3, 2009, from lung cancer. He was born Jan. 17, 1953, in Caribou, to Warren and Marjorie (Kelley) Anderson. Rodney is survived by his wife, Faye; his daughters, Aubree and husband, Jim Booth, of Indiana, and Brooke Anderson of Boston; his son, Kyle and wife, Kelly, and granddaughter, Nora, of Ithaca, N.Y.; his mother, Marjorie (Kelley) Anderson of Caribou; sisters, Hallie and husband, Mike Milton, of South Portland and Donna and husband, William Cote, of Portland; brother, Richard and wife, Carol Anderson, of Clinton, Conn.; mother-in-law, Mrs. Lillian Plourde of Saco; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sister Linda Mae Plourde of Bidde-ford Pool, Father Jim Plourde of Calais, Roger Plourde of Saco, Lisa and husband, Jay Cyr, of Old Orchard Beach and Allen Plourde of St. Agatha. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and special friends. He was predeceased by his father, Warren Anderson; and father-in-law, Alberic Plourde. Rod had a deep love for his family and for life, which could always be felt through his hugs. Rod was a very special person with a contagious sense of humor and for all those who knew him best, he wanted them to know he is “no longer circling the drain.” His positive attitude was reflected in all aspects of his life. He was the proud owner of AK&B Snacks, and enjoyed and appreciated working with his many customers. Some of Rod’s passions included Wednesday night dates, Saturday morning breakfasts, cruising the Caribbean with the love of his life, being a dad and grandfather, and camping. To know Rod was to love him. Family and friends are invited to visit 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave., Hampden, by Father Jim Plourde.
