Safes taken in break-in in Dover-Foxcroft

DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — Two small safes containing an undisclosed amount of cash were taken from a Range Road home Monday, police said.

The homeowners had gone to Bangor and when they returned they discovered that someone had forced entry into their home. Worried that someone might still be inside the building, they called the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department and waited until an officer arrived, according to Jeff Weatherbee, a dispatcher.
