GREENBUSH – Mark A. Meade died Feb. 18, 2009. He was born Sept. 28, 1954, in Detroit, Mich. With a mouth full of apple blossoms and eyes of swallowing smoke, Mark lived his life like a knife dropped into open water; like a light-drenched brook trout; like a curling blue flame making ash of oak. A man of many wanderings, Mark preferred not to leave the forest. His mutterings shroud maple saplings; his sighs were heard only where the ferryman hears. He howled like Ginsberg and swerved like Stafford. His name is in the book of myths. He was husband to the lovely late Becky Meade; father to Jolana, Russell and Kathryn; friend to Johnny Tardiff, Matt Miller, Al and Lorraine Wagner, and Mary Rustin; son of George and Doris; brother to Karen, Kathy and George; and much, much more. There will be a farewell party Saturday, Feb. 21, at his home. For details, call Kathryn.
