LEONARDTOWN, Md. – Dorothy Angie Chick, 94, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home to Heaven, Feb. 19, 2009. She was born Sept. 13, 1915, the daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Maynard) Dwelley. Dorothy was a graduate of Bangor High School. She was a sales lady for Tupperware, the former Robert Hall’s Clothing Store, Brewer and Avon. Most importantly, she enjoyed life with family and friends. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Chick Sr.; brothers, Clarence Dwelley and Charles Dwelley Jr.; one sister, Louise Gilman; son, Herman Chick Jr.; son-in-law, Andrew Garland II; grandsons, Stephen Dunning, Stephen Dubay and infant twins. She is survived by sons, William Shaw Sr. and wife, Carol, of Charleston and Richard Chick of Bradenton, Fla.; daughters, Jacqueline Thorne and husband, Gerald, of Hyattsville, Md., Evelyn Garland of Great Mills, Md., Judith Dunning of Brewer and Jacquelyn Dubay and husband, Norman, of Bangor; daughters-in-law, Dorothy Chick of California and Cathy Chick of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren, Andrew Garland III and wife, Marion, of Mechanicsville, MD., Tracy Garland of Great Mills, Md., Lisa Farrell and husband, Ronald, of LaPlata, Md., Mary Lord and husband, David, of Kenduskeag, Mona Spear and husband, Alan, of Holden, Cathy Tilton and husband, Kevin, of Holden, Margaret Sullivan and husband, Brian, of Boston, Stephanie Chesley of Corinth, William Shaw Jr. and wife, Lucretia, of Kenduskeag, Laurie DeWitt and husband, Scott, of East Corinth, Lynn Tuller and husband, Roy, of Charleston, Paul Dubay of Bangor, Joyce Dubay of Milford and Jeffrey Dossiere and wife, Jane, of Coos Bay, Ore.; 30 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A sincere thank you to all the doctors and staff at St. Mary’s Nursing Home, Leonardtown, Md., for the special care and love they gave to Dorothy for the past six years. A graveside service will be held at a future date at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Arrangements were made by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home of Leonardtown, Md.
