SEARSPORT – They say “It doesn’t matter where you go in life; it’s who you have beside you.” On Feb. 19, 2009, Frances (Delaney-Carlson) Atencio crossed over to continue her journey with her husband, James and their two kitties at her side. She was at peace and looked forward to the heavenly passage she was about to embark on. Fran was born July 2, 1952, in Marlborough, Mass., the daughter of Frank and Vivian Delaney. She is survived by her children, Kelly Carlson-Williams of Clinton, Mass., and Timothy Carlson of Tucson, Ariz., who were her pride and joy; her grandchildren, Osiris, Darius and Jolia Williams, who were the lights of her life; her stepbrother, Eric Daggett and his family of Willmington, Mass.; her Aunt Angie Young of Portsmouth, N.H.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother; her brother, Denny; and a grandson, Justin Carlson. Throughout the years, Fran worked at the Perkins School, Lancaster and Meadowbrook School, Hudson, Mass. Fran wanted to pass on this message to her family and friends: “The things that matter most in life, are the things that can’t be counted.” To know Fran, was to know love.
