DEXTER – Alice Elaine (Stevens) Gibbs, 61, went to be with the Lord Feb. 27, 2009, at a Dexter nursing facility. She was born March 21, 1947, in Dexter, daughter of Pauline B. (Fraser) and Gerald J. Stevens Sr. Alice graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1965, and from nursing school in Lewiston in 1967. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at area nursing facilities for more than 40 years. Alice found great joy in her faith, gardening and crafts. She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Melissa A. Gibbs; and son, Michael S. Gibbs. Alice is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Gibbs and her partner, Beth; grandsons, Jacob and Justin; sisters, Jane (Stevens) Robinson and her husband, Gene, Ruth (Stevens) Pike, Phyllis (Champeon) Watson and her husband, Arthur, Susan (Champeon) Parsons, and Helen “Pete” (Champeon) Chamberland and her husband, Tom; brother, Gerald Stevens Jr. and his wife, Chong Hwa; and her beloved golden retriever, Casey. She is also survived by the many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who brightened her days with their visits. She was fortunate to be surrounded by dear friends, too numerous to name, whose kindness saw no limits.
