OAKFIELD – Olive Mildred Burpee, 87, died March 6, 2009, in Houlton. She was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Merrill, the daughter of Joseph and Estella (Hardy) White. She is survived by her children, Janice Carver and her husband, Donis, of Holden and Larry Burpee and his wife, Marilyn, of Oakfield; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Vinal White of Houlton; and two sisters, Joyce Hayes and Nadine Richards, both of Oakfield. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley C. Burpee; two brothers, Donald and Ernest White; and two sisters Rita Timberlake and Mary Savage. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Sterling Lawrence officiating. Spring interment will be at Oakfield Cemetery.
