BLUE HILL – Maud C. Beede, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior, March 8, 2009, at a Penobscot health care facility. She was born May 26, 1916, in Blue Hill, daughter of Uzial F. and Nellie (Maxwell) Candage. She worked for many summers at the local blueberry factory in Sedgwick. Maud was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, especially her flower gardens. She was an active member of North Sedgwick Baptist Church and former member of the Grange. Maud was predeceased by her husband, Vance; sister, Audrey Beede; and brother, Rufus Candage. She is survived by her son, Stuart Beede and wife, Deborah L-Wiley, of Glenburn; grandchildren, Deborah Dastyck and husband, David, Scott Beede and Andrea Hamilton; three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to all the health care personnel who made her feel loved and comfortable. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at North Sedgwick Baptist Church.
