GUILFORD, Maine — Three firearms were stolen between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning during a break-in at Paul’s Tire on Route 15.
The glass in a front door was smashed to gain entry, according to Investigator Guy Dow of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department.
Paul Herrick, owner of the store, reported that two 22-caliber semiautomatic rifles and a 12-gauge older-model pump shotgun were taken from the store. The firearms had been left standing against a wall behind a counter, according to Dow. The firearms had a combined value of about $600.
Dow said nothing else was touched or taken from the store, including a cash register or any of the inventory.
The break-in reportedly occurred between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Anyone who may have seen any activity at the business between those hours is encouraged to call the sheriff’s department at 564-3304.
