HODGDON – Forrest “Frosty” Quint, 85, went to be with his Lord, March 16, 2009. He was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Hodgdon, son of Olin and Hazel (Tidd) Quint. He was a graduate of Hodgdon High School, a member of Hodgdon Baptist Church and was on the board of directors of Eastern Maine Co-op for several years. Forrest served in the U.S. Army in World War II and participated in the invasion of France at Normandy, and was a carpenter by trade. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty (Craig) Quint; two sons, David and his wife, Sylvia, of Hodgdon, and James and his wife, Julie, of Linneus; two daughters, Linda McVicker and her husband, Richard, of Swanton, Vt., and Beth Mockler and her husband, Steve, of Newburgh; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Ludt and her husband, Rick, Sean McVicker and his wife, Dawn, Cynthia Thompson and her husband, Chad, Jodi Williams and her husband, Bryan, Matthew, Jason, Emily and Jonathan Quint, and John and Elizabeth Madigan; seven great-grandchildren, Dalton and Amelia Ludt, Brock and Sadie Thompson, Molly Vesey, Hailey Quint, and Ryan McVicker; one sister, Virgie Ingraham of Hodgdon; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a granddaughter, Jennifer; brothers, Shirley, Clayton and Roy; sisters, Lucille Mason and Gertrude London; and stepbrother, Gilbert Murphy. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Hodgdon Baptist Church with the Rev.
