BANGOR – Helen K. Leen, 73, wife of the late Joseph D. Leen, died peacefully March 18, 2009, at her home. She was born Dec. 5, 1935, in Bangor, daughter of Kenneth Earl and Alice Louise (Seavey) McInnis. Helen had been employed for many years in retail sales. Surviving are four children, Jane E. Spaulding of Arizona, Kevin J. Leen of Florida, Judy M. Leen of Glenburn and Jodie L. Gross of New Hampshire; 12 grandchildren, Shelby, Jennifer, Kristy, Casey, Meghan, Ryan, Hannah, Lee, Lauren, Danielle, Michael and Kayla; six great-grandchildren, Joie, Jimmy, Michael, Cody, Sydney and Taylor; one brother, Edward McInnis; three sisters, Patricia Leeman, Jean Caley and Susan Stevenson; 13 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, March 23, at St. John’s Catholic Church, York Street, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service Monday in the parish hall. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
