TEWKSBURY, Mass. – Roberta A. “Berta” (Tedford) Moran, 59, formerly of Medway, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, surrounded by her family at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Dec. 4, 1949, Berta was the beloved daughter of Norma O. (Allen) and the late Allen R. Tedford of Medway. Roberta grew up in Maine, was a graduate of Schenck High School, Class of 1969, and went on to receive a degree in cosmetology from D’Lors Beauty School. Roberta moved to Tewksbury, Mass., more than 20 years ago and continued her education by taking accounting and bookkeeping classes at Shawsheen Valley Regional Tech, Billerica, Mass. Roberta was employed as a bookkeeper at General Aluminum Co. for many years before her illness forced her to retire. In her spare time, Roberta enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, crocheting, doing puzzles and was an avid reader. Roberta will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a people person. She was very endearing to those around her, as well as strangers; she made friends easily and was very giving of herself, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t for others. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. In addition to her mother, Roberta is survived by her love and life partner, Bruce A. Killam of Tewksbury, Mass.; her brothers and sisters, Patricia Ammons and her husband, Richard, of Shelton, Wash., Gail Trueworthy and her husband, David, Gloria Barker and Jim Dow, Brian Tedford, Richard Tedford, Ronald Tedford and his wife, Lynda, and Joseph Tedford and his wife, Diane, all of Medway. Roberta is also survived by Bill and Carol Killam of Florida; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and special friends. Funeral services for Roberta will be held at a later date.
