CALAIS – Norma S. Brown Prussia, 87, passed away quietly April 4, 2009, at Atlantic Rehab, Calais. She was born March 26, 1922, in Eastport, daughter of Mattie (McPhail) and George Matthews. Norma graduated from Shead High in 1940. She worked at Sears, Eastport and Calais, and for Royal Typewriter, Hartford, Conn. Norma is survived by son, William L. Brown of Bangor and wife, Cheryl; her granddaughter, JoAnn and husband, Stan Kulish, of Blue Hill; her grandson, Chris Brown and wife, Mindy, of Milford; by sisters, Virginia Hill and Sally Brown, both of Calais and Amelia Frankland of Eastport; and brother, Harry Matthews of New Hampshire. Norma was predeceased by her first husband, Bill Brown; second husband, Robert Prussia; and sisters, Doris Mitchell and Georgia Miliano. There will be a memorial service for family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Calais.
