President Obama concludes a trip this week that included a meeting with the G 20 in
London, and visits to France, the Czech Republic and Turkey. What dividends will the
visit pay, if any? Will Europe return to supporting U.S. diplomatic efforts on the world
stage, if the president first convinces NATO members that the U.S. shares European
views? Or is the U.S. under Mr. Obama merely swinging back to a European view of the
world? Will Islamic moderate states like Turkey support Mr. Obama’s agenda more than
that of his predecessor?
