HOULTON, SANFORD and CANADA – Brittney E. Francis, 22, died unexpectedly April 17, 2009, in Sanford. She was born Feb. 9, 1987, in Houlton, the daughter of Ralph Joseph and Ruth Zoey (Murphy) Smith. After her mother’s death, Brittney was adopted by her aunt, Catherine Murphy Francis. She is survived by her father of Sanford and mother of Nova Scotia; one son, Ricky Leslie Brackett of Sanford; four brothers, Stephen, Scottie, James and Ryan; four sisters, Carrie, Michelle, Nevaeh and Mariah; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
