BREWER – Georgie Lee (Rollins) Garceau passed away April 7, 2009. Georgie was born April 2, 1934, in Greenbush, the fifth child of Oscar and Ava J. (Smart) Rollins. She graduated with honors from Old Town High School in 1952 and worked as a secretary until her marriage to Raymond Garceau in 1954. Georgie was a beautiful and happy young woman, whose life was full of promise until mental illness took all hope and peace away from her in her late 30s. Georgie joined her parents, brothers, sisters and two sons in heaven April 7, 2009. Two sons, Brian and Mark; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive her. She will be greatly missed by her niece and guardian, Sylvia A. (Fish) Decker, who loved her like a big sister. Many thanks to the “angels” on B Wing at Brewer Rehab for the kindness shown to Georgie and Sylvia as they spent her final days together. A summer graveside service will be announced.
