HOULTON and California – Arthur Charles Nagle, 44, passed away April 16, 2009, in Los Angeles, after an extended battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 18, 1965, in Boston, the son of Robert J. and Molly (Inman) Nagle of Brewer. He graduated from Houlton High School in 1983 and from Colby College, Waterville, in 1987. He earned his master’s degree in education administration at the University of Virginia. His work career included teaching English, coaching basketball and school administration, all in private schools in Virginia, New York, Las Vegas and North Carolina. For the last six years, he was director of Upper School and English teacher at Windward School, Mar Vista, Calif. In 1994 he married Kim Hamer of Westport, Conn. He and his wife were both active in athletic pursuits of biking, running and outdoor activities. In 2005 he completed the Long Beach Marathon and in September 2008 completed the Los Angeles Triathlon. In addition to his parents, Arthur is survived by his wife, Kim; three children, Langston, Pallas and Ezra; a brother, Kenneth P. Nagle; and two sisters, Diane N. Tucker and Barbara L. Stewart, all of Bangor; 11 nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held April 21 at Windward School, Mar Vista, Calif. A local memorial service will be announced.
