WATERVILLE, Maine — The University of Maine at Farmington is taking steps to guard against the swine flu at Saturday’s graduation ceremonies.

Graduates are being asked to stop at a table and apply hand sanitizer before they go on stage to get their diplomas at the commencement ceremonies.

A school official told the Morning Sentinel of Waterville that once graduates make it up front, University President Theodora Kalikow is planning to wear a glove as a precautionary measure as she shakes graduates’ hands.

The school has 468 students in its graduating class.
