VEAZIE – Barbara J. Cardin, 74, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009. She was born Oct. 3, 1934, the daughter of Colin W. and Hazel Keith Sprague. Barbara was educated in the Bangor school system and the University of Maine. She was employed by several area dentists as a dental assistant for more than 45 years, and was a popular soloist at several area churches. She is survived by a cousin, Sherry Sprague of Bangor; a sister-in-law, Sara Brooks of Montgomery, Ala.; several nieces and a nephew of Montgomery, Ala.; and special friends, Doug and Debbie Schmidt of Holden. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Robert L. Cardin; and her brother, Col. Carleton K. Sprague. A private service will be held in the Cardin family lot at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie.
