HOLDEN – Fay M. Grover, 77, died May 8, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Auburn, the daughter of Dana and Wilma (Walker) Russell. Fay worked as a waitress for many years. She loved visiting friends for a cup of tea and a little sweet snack. She enjoyed entertaining friends, playing cards and going to weekend jam sessions at different locations where local musicians got together to entertain. Fay loved to dance anytime and anywhere. She also worked as a home caregiver and always wanted to be a nurse because she loved to help people. Fay loved to go to Cadillac Mountain and Acadia, when she was able to, hiking with her boyfriend, Tom, spending the day in Bar Harbor going to lunch and making a day of it. Family reunions were very special to her, seeing all of the Russell family members and longtime members of Brewer Eagles Club, of which she was a member. She is survived by two sons, Gary Grover and his wife, Debbie, and Lee Grover III and his wife, Karen, all of Holden; three sisters, Gwen Buffington of Paulsboro, N.J., Donna and her husband, John Agurkis, of West Peabody, Mass., and Janice Meserve of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Kyle Cyr, Lee K. Grover IV and his wife, Kim, and Angela Tarbox; one great-grandchild, Lee Jacob Grover; several nieces and nephews; and her special longtime boyfriend, Tom Riegelman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Dana Russell; and former husband, Lee K. Grover Jr. Services will be held in August at a date and time to be announced at a later date.
