CALAIS – Henry Lawrence Ramsey Sr., 83, husband of Sandra (Armstrong) Ramsey, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 11, 2009, at Calais Regional Hospital with his loving wife of 47 years by his side. Henry was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Milford, son of Jack and Helen (Madden) Ramsey. He attended school in Milford. Henry was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Calais. He was a lifelong member of Carpenters and Millwright’s Union Local 1996, where he worked for many years on construction projects all throughout the state. He passed this love of carpentry onto his sons, one of which, Skip, followed in his footsteps and learned the trade from his father. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and being with his family. Henry was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Helen. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra Ramsey of Calais; four sons, Robert, Richard and his wife, Angela, John and his wife, Tracy, and Henry Jr. “Skip” and his wife, Lisa; two daughters, Louise White and her husband, Ed, and Pam Bertheim and her husband, Ronald; a brother, Martin; one sister, Lucy Dufour; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelsey, John Jr., Kassidee, Stephanie, Michelle, Melissa, Vincent, Patrick, Kristen, Shelli, Crystal, Jeffrey and Keith; and his great-grandchildren, Cooper, Brynn, Ashlynne, Casey, Alicia, Kaylee, Kelsey, Mark, Amber, Shyla and Domineque. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 29 Church St., Calais, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev.
