A bill approved by the House would reduce the House of Representatives from 151 seats to 131. Legislative districts would go from having populations of about 8,700 to about 10,000. If the question wins the approval if the Senate and the governor, it would be

decided by the voters since it represents a change to the Constitution. Bill sponsor Rep. Patrick Flood, R-Winthrop, believes a smaller legislature would mean savings. It might also mean more legislative efficiency. But what about access? Will it be more difficult to contact your House member? Or does electronic communication make it easier than ever?
