BANGOR, Maine — Tickets are still available for the Maine Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Sunday, May 31 at the Bangor Motor Inn Convention Center. The deadline for purchasing the $35 tickets is May 22. Call Bill Daviero 899-0569.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with a fellowship hour, with the by dinner and ceremony at 12:30 p.m.
This year’s inductees are:
• Cindy Blodgett, Lawrence High and University of Maine basketball legend, and UMaine head women’s coach.
• Jack Butterfield, former University of Maine athlete and baseball coach.
• George Hale, high school and college sports broadcaster for 55 years.
• Robert Kelley, 32-year baseball coach at Bangor High School.
• Jon MacDonald, star athlete at Stearns High School and the University of Maryland.
• Peter McCarty, Bangor High School and University of Massachusetts football star and outstanding college coach.
• Charles “Sam” Pendleton, high school soccer coach for 39 years with eight state championships.
• Dick Scott, great high school athlete at Ellsworth who has been in professional baseball since 1981.
• Ken Perrone, highly successful football and baseball coach in Maine and Massachusetts.
Ten $1,500 scholarships will be given out to outstanding scholar athletes.
