At Mansfield Stadium, Bangor, Darren Casey-Covell pitched a one-hit shutout in his first start of the season to lead Bangor past Lawrence of Fairfield.Casey-Covell struck out six and walked none. He was perfect through 6¤ before a Lawrence’s Ben Violette hit a double to right field.Bangor’s Lonnie Hackett had a triple, two singles and three RBIs for Bangor. Cody McInnis had two singles and an RBI.

At East Sullivan, Ben Perry hit two doubles and drove in four runs to lift Orono over Sumner.Orono’s Charlie Boyle, Anthony Cyr and Sean Kilpatrick each hit a double and a single.Matt Boyle singled three times for Sumner. Mike Crowley and Matt Dyer both singled twice.

At Harrington, Josh Beal hit two singles and knocked in a run as Narraguagus held on to beat MachiasEthan Dublin singled twice for the Knights. Cam Jordan added a run-scoring single.Ty Richards led Machias with a three-run double. Philip Morse singled three times and Jacob Stevens hit two singles.

At East Millinocket, Brandon Brown rapped a double and a triple with one RBI to lead the Patriots of Milo past the Wolverines.Asa Sproul added a pair of singles for Penquis, and winning pitcher Eddie Cobb struck out 11 and walked three over six innings.Jon Sirois topped Schenck with a single and an RBI triple, Chris Ouellette had two singles and Ben LeClerc doubled and stole two bases.

At Howland, Nevin Jipson pitched three innings of shutout relief to earn the win for the host Penobscot Valley Howlers over Piscataquis of Guilford. Jake Jones hit a two-run double to tie it up in the sixth and, after a Darren Worster single, Anthony Batchler hit a two-run single for the Howlers. Yaal Kand had a single, two stolen bases, and a run for the PCHS Pirates.
Medomak 4, MCI 3 (8 inn.)
At Pittsfield, Isaac Greenrose delivered a sacrifice fly in the eighth to supply the visiting Pan-thers from Waldoboro with the win. Dillion Reed doubled and singled with an RBI while Dale Winchenbach had an RBI single for Medomak. Casey Edgerton and Zach Doiron each had two singles plus an RBI for MCI.
Cen. Aroostook sweeps GHCA
At Mars Hill, Logan McLaughlin hit two singles and a double and drove in two runs as Cen-tral Aroostook defeated Greater Houlton Christian Academy 6-2 in the first game. The Panthers also won the second game 19-2. In the first game, Manny Martinez hit an RBI single for Central Aroostook. Jaron Gray led the Eagles with an RBI single and Jeff Campbell added two singles. In the second game, Mitch Folsom hit four singles and drove in four runs for the Panthers. Logan McLaughlin had three singles and three RBIs and Dan Brewer had two singles, a double and an RBI. Ethan Brady hit two singles and drove in two runs for Greater Houlton Christian.
Brewer 12, Mt. Blue 2
At Farmington, Andy Bush hit an RBI single, a solo home run and a two-run double to help lift Brewer of Mt. Blue. Billy Bissell hit a two-run homer in the fifth for the Witches. Colby Hutchins doubled and singled and Kyle O’Connell added a two-run double in the fifth. Alec Wallace tripled and scored for the Cougars. Shane Smith hit an RBI double and Devin Zamboni added an RBI single.
Ashland 11, Madawaska 2
At Madawaska, the Hornets stung the Owls with three home runs in their 18-hit attack. Tony Baker topped Ashland with a two-run homer, two singles and three RBIs, Lucas Hafford added a two-run homer and a single, Jeremy Tarr hit a solo shot and a single and had two RBIs and Jake Paradis and Jordan Beaulieu posted three singles each. Mike Cannan led Madawaska with three singles, and Andrew Dechaine had two singles.
Bucksport 7-2, Presque Isle 5-9
At Presque Isle, Matt Chasse and Brennen Shaw combined on a four-hitter, striking out nine and walking seven, and Shaw and Zac Campbell each drove in three runs as Presque Isle beat Bucksport 9-2 to salvage a split of their doubleheader. Bucksport won the opener 7-5. In the nightcap, Shaw had a two-run homer and a single and Campbell had two singles. Steven Ford walloped a two-run homer. Jordan Trasko had two singles for Bucksport. In the opener, Trasko and Kyle McGeechan had two-run doubles in a seven-run third inning to power the Bucks. Tim Nason, Ray Wood and Cody Farrell had RBI singles in the inning. Farrell had three singles in the opener, McGeechan doubled and singled and Cam Wentworth had a pair of singles. Shaw had two doubles and a single and drove in two runs for Presque Isle and Chasse singled twice.
Hampden 4, Messalonskee 3
At Oakland, Ryan McCluskey doubled home a run in the seventh to lift the visiting Broncos to the win. Shawn Smith and Josh Tardiff added RBI doubles while Nolan Turner singled three times and scored three runs. Matt Stuart had two singles and Mike Bouchard two singles (RBI) for Messlaonskee.

At Woodland, junior Shelby Bassett threw a perfect game, striking out 11, before it was halted by the mercy rule after 4½ innings.Bassett also posted a double and two singles with three RBIs for the Dragons. Molly White ripped a three-run homer and a single and Taylor Cochrane, Marlene Flaherty and Kelsey Worden each added two singles.
Madawaska 13, Fort Kent 6
At Fort Kent, Steph Nadeau drove in four runs on three singles to lead Madawaska past Fort Kent.Kristy Morneault singled twice for the Owls and Kallie Pelletier knocked in two runs.Katelyn Roy had three singles and an RBI for Fort Kent. MaryGrace Morris and Sam Carapellucci each singled twice.

At East Sullivan, Sumner had all of its hits and runs in the first as the Tigers held off Orono.Katelyn Hodgkins hit a three-run triple in the first for Sumner. Tashia Daley and Morgan Whitten added RBI singles. Lona Sargent led off the inning with a triple. Daley struck out seven in 6¤ innings.Alyssa Bates hit an RBI double in the third and an RBI single in the fourth to lead Orono. Sarah Thibeault knocked in a urn in the fifth.

At Bangor, junior Sam Bedore tossed her second no-hitter of the season against Lawrence of Fairfield.The right hander walked two and struck out 13 for the Rams. It was her seventh shutout and fourth no-hitter.Bangor’s Nicole Stairs had two singles, two RBIs and scored three runs. Mariah Cassum hit two singles and scored two runs and Erin Dean drove in two runs on bases loaded walks.
Bucksport, Presque Isle split
At Presque Isle, Jenna Stephenson hit a two-run single in the third inning as Presque Isle defeated Bucksport 5-3 in the second game. Bucksport took the first game 7-3.In the first game, Emily Lenor doubled and singled for Bucksport. Sarah Sutherland and Shelby Redman each had two singles.Allison Young singled twice and scored two runs for Presque Isle.In the second game, Caitlyn Esancy tripled and scored in the fourth for the Wildcats. At Lisbon Falls, junior Danielle Frye pitched her third no-hitter as Georges Valley of Thomaston shut out Lisbon.Frye struck out 16 and walked one for the Buccaneers. Jessie Veilleux tripled and doubled. Liz Hall hit two doubles and Bethany Snow singled twice.

At Bangor, Whitney Holmes hit a two-run double as Bangor Christian routed Searsport.Monica Alexander had two singles and two RBIs for the Patriots. Moriah Bach singled twice with an RBI and Kelly Robinson hit two singles. Monica Alexander and Kristen Roemmich combined for one run on two hits and seven strikeouts.Shawna Dakin and Megan Higgins singled for Searsport.

At Blue Hill, George Stevens Academy scored six runs in the first three innings and held on to defeat Stearns of Millinocket.Mindy Carter hit a two-run double for the Eagles. Lexi Wessel added two singles and an RBI and Lydia Clapp struck out nine.Paige Curtis and Becca Leavitt both had two singles for Stearns as Kristen Albert doubled.
Narraguagus 15, Machias 9
At Harrington, Sam Baker pitched a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Knights to victory.Baker struck out 17 and walked 12. Andrea Perry, Mandy Ostberg and Izabo Emerson stroked two singles and knocked in two runs apiece for Narraguagus.Heather Kosinski singled twice with an RBI for Machias.

At Dyer Brook, Evangeline Goodall pitched a three-hitter, striking out nine batters and walking eight, while sister Elizabeth had two singles, a triple, and one RBI. Kaitlyn Sommers had a triple, single and one RBI for the Southern Aroostook Warriors. Shelby Hartin had two singles and four RBIs. Emily Weissman had a single and two RBIs for the Tigers.
Messalonskee 3, Hampden 1
At Oakland, Sarah Boynton pitched a complete game to help lift Messalonskee over Hampden Academy. Messalonskee’s Boynton allowed one run on four hits and no walks while striking out six. Morgan Workman singled three times. Jules Fekete doubled and singled and Ali Collier added two singles. Katherine Danforth paced the Broncos with two singles and an RBI.
Medomak 6, MCI 0
At Pittsfield, Kayla Vannah pitched a one-hit shutout as Medomak Valley of Waldoboro de-feated Maine Central Institute. Vannah struck out seven and walked two four the Panthers. Jessica Koon had two singles and scored two runs. Kayle Santheson hit four singles and knocked in two runs. Kylee Alton singled for the Huskies. Allie Sinclair struck out six in five innings.
Brewer 3, Mt. Blue 2 (13 inn.)
At Farmington, a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt scored one goal and sent a runner to sec-ond, and what would become the winning run scored on a safety squeeze with one out in the top of the 13th inning for the Brewer Witches. Melanie Judkins scored after Allie DeFilipp’s bunt was mishandled with one out in the 13th and DeFilipp went to second. A strikeout and stolen base later, DeFilipp scored on Emily Cox’s bunt on a squeeze play. Katie McLaughlin led Brewer with 3 singles. Amy Curry had a double and a single for the Witches. Melanie Judkins pitched eight inning of relief and allowed one hit while striking out 12 batters and walking six to notch the win. Tamisha Pellarama had a double and two singles, one for an RBI in the 13th, to lead the Cougars. Kaitlin Bartlett added two singles.
Cen. Aroostook, GHCA split
At Mars Hill, Greater Houlton Christian Academy scored six runs in the bottom of the sev-enth inning to rally past Central Aroostook 16-15 in the nightcap. The Panthers won the first game 24-13. In the first game, Kristen Long hit for the cycle and drove in three runs for the Panthers. Vicki McIntyre had a triple, two singles and two RBIs. Brianna Hartin doubled and singled with three RBIs and Rebecca Grass added a two-run single. Melissa Parker tripled and doubled with three RBIs for the Eagles. Kindra Smart had three singles and an RBI and Megan Carroll added two singles. In the second game, Mikayla Wiley scored the winning run on an Amber Michaud infield single in the seventh to win it for Greater Houlton Christian. Michaud singled three times. Kasi Parker tripled and singled with two RBIs and Emily Little added three singles and two RBIs. McIntyre homered, tripled and singled with four RBIs to pace Central Aroostook. Rachel Grew tripled, doubled and singled with two RBIs. Rachel Grew doubled and singled and Hartin added two singles.
