Jonesport-Beals, Deer Isle-Stonington split

At Jonesport, Jonesport-Beals and Deer Isle-Stonington split a doubleheader Saturday with the Royals winning the first game 13-3 in five innings and the Mariners taking the second game 8-6. In the first game, Zach Fenton had two doubles, a single and two RBIs to lead Jonesport-Beals. Sidney Look doubled an singled with three RBIs while Harold Lyons added two singles and two RBIs. Alex Peasley hit a single and knocked in two runs for Deer Isle-Stonington. In the second game, Nick Trundy and Peasley each had two singles and an RBI to spark the Mariners (5-3). Eben Powers added an RBI double. Sidney Look paced the Royals (4-3) with three singles and an RBI. Terrell Carver tripled and singled with two RBIs while Fenton added two singles and an RBI.

Caribou sweeps Old Town

At Caribou, Pat Thibodeau hit two home runs including a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth to lift Caribou past Old Town 14-4 in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader. The Vikings won the second game 11-9. In the first game, Brandon Caverhill hit four singles for Caribou. Philip St. Peter added a two-run home run in the third inning. Tyler Hamm had two singles while Dan Lebreton hit a triple for Old Town. In the second game, Matt Kinney had two singles, a triple and an RBI to lead the Vikings (7-3). Chad McCarthy hit two doubles with two RBIs while Thibodeau had five stolen bases. Zak Kohis tripled and singled while Casey Estes had a double for the Coyotes (1-8-1).

Shead 4, Woodland 1

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Justin Lewey scatted six hits and allowed one run, no walks and struck out 11 as Shead of Eastport defeated Woodland. Tim Barnes hit a double, two singles and scored a run for the Tigers (5-2). Nick Vinson and Lewey each had two singles and an RBI. Aaron St. Pierre led the Dragons (3-4) with two singles and a run scored. Ed Flaherty knocked in the run.

Hermon 3, Mattanawcook 0

At Lincoln, Ashley Thayer hit an RBI double in the first inning and Lindsey Allen added a two-run single in the fourth to lead Hermon past previously undefeated and top-ranked Mattanawcook Academy. Debbie Colpitts pitched a two-hit shutout for the Hawks (9-1), striking out 10 and walking four. Tayla Trask struck out 14 and walked none for the Lynx (9-1). Jess Fortin and Brandi Pierce singled.

Washington Acad. 13, Lee 2

At Lee, Taylor Davis pitched a complete game, giving up two runs on one hit with 11 strikeouts to lead Washington Academy of East Machias by Lee Academy. Bre Nicely hit two singles and drove in four runs. Andi Flannery doubled and singled with an RBI, while Irene Lewey added two singles for the Raiders (5-4). Felicia Thornton singled for Lee Academy (0-8).

Woodland 23, Shead 1

At Eastport, Shelby Bassett pitched a five-inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts while collecting two singles, a triple and three RBIs to lift Woodland to the comfortable win. Taylor Cochran hit a pair of doubles and a single to knock in three runs while Michelle Boomer had two doubles and two singles for four RBIs for the undefeated Dragons.

Old Town sweeps Caribou

At Caribou, Micayla Hussey hit four singles and knocked in two runs to lead Old Town by Caribou 10-6 in the first game of a doubleheader. The Coyotes took the second game 3-2. In the first game, Amy Cossar had an RBI triple while Annie Cashon hit a double for Old Town. Kristen Espling had two singles and an RBI for Caribou. In the second game, Hannah Morin and Annie Cashon each hit an RBI double while Cossar added two singles for the Coyotes (8-2). Espling singled twice for the Vikings (2-6).

Jonesport-Beals sweeps Deer Isle-Stonington

At Jonesport, Jonesport-Beals swept a doubleheader with Deer Isle-Stonington on Saturday, winning the first game 11-9 and the second 17-12. In the first game, Rose Carver singled and drove in three runs to spark the Royalettes. Hannah Carver doubled while Sarah Milliken added an RBI single. Goldie Garcia hit two singles while Britnie Jones had an RBI double for the Mariners. In the second game, BreAnna Beal knocked in four runs on two singles for Jonesport-Beals (5-3). Hannah Carver had a double with two RBIs while Erin Crowley and Robbi Carver each hit an RBI single. Anika Powers posted three singles, a double and five RBIs to pace Deer Isle-Stonington (1-7). Jones added two singles, a double and two RBIs.

Buckfield sweeps Greenville

At Greenville, Buckfield swept a doubleheader from Greenville, taking the first game 9-4 and the second 12-0. In game one, Ally Martin had three singles and a double to knock in a couple runs to pace the visiting Bucks. Sami Jones had two singles and a double and Danielle Patrie two singles for the winners. Miranda Drinkwater led Greenville with an RBI double and RBI single. In game two, Brittany Wiley pitched a five-inning two-hitter with seven strikeouts to propel Buckfield to the sweep. Martin slammed a three-run homer while Melissa Taylor had three singles and a double for Buckfield (5-1). Nikki Hamilton and Emma Wilson singled for Greenville (1-5).

GHCA 10, Wisdom 9

At St. Agatha, an error on a stolen base attempt in the top of the seventh lifted Greater Houlton Christian to the win. Kiki Smart and Elizabeth Little had two singles apiece for the Eagles (2-4). Ashley Raymond singled three times while Deliya Michaud, Krystal Paradis and Chantel Bernier all had two singles and an RBI for Wisdom (1-4). Sarah Paradis hit two singles.
