MUKILTEO, Wash. – David Lawrence Sullivan, 49, died April 24, 2009, at his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1960, in Springfield, Mass., to Eugene and Norma (MacDonald) Sullivan. He was born into an Air Force family and moved all over the U.S. and Okinawa, Japan. He graduated from Rancho Cordova High School, Rancho Cordova, Calif., in 1978, and entered the U.S. Air Force Reserves, where he was trained as an airframe/sheet metal specialist. He started his career with Lockheed Aircraft in Germany and Alaska, and then in 1987 he moved to Washington state and began his long work history with Boeing Aircraft. He was a member of the Airplane on Ground, AOG – Incident Recovery and Repair Services Team at Boeing for many years, traveling the world with them repairing grounded airplanes. He joked that AOG meant they were the “Angels of God.” He loved his job and took pride in his work. David loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He loved family, friends and get-togethers. He was always smiling, happy and eager to help anyone. He was quite the guru, both on the barbecue and with his famous deep-fried turkeys. Whenever he barbecued or fried the turkeys, he’d call himself, “Chef BoyarDave.” He loved visiting Maine and his many relatives on Prince Edward Island, Canada, where he’d eat lobster morning, noon and night. David was a lifelong Catholic, who served many years of his childhood as an altar boy. He is survived by his son, Christopher “Jake,” 18; his daughter, Savannah, 10, who live in Hamburg, Ark.; his mother, Norma Sullivan of Bangor; his sister, Deborah and her husband, Joseph Johnston, of Hermon; his sister, Cheryl Sullivan of Bangor; his brother, Eugene Sullivan Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Fresno, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Buck of Bangor, Eric Sullivan of Tonganoxie, Kan., Jacqulyn, Leslie and Dylan Sullivan of Fresno, Calif.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Sullivan; and a nephew, Scott Johnston. He was entombed April 30 at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Lacey, Wash. The Mass was officiated by Father Michael Durka. Condolences may be sent to his mother, Norma Sullivan, 204 Randolph Drive, Bangor, ME 04401.
