In his commencement speech at Notre Dame, President Obama asserted that some
common ground could be found on abortion. Is this true? Can some people believe that
abortion is immoral, yet acquiesce to allowing others the right to have abortions? Are
early term abortions more morally acceptable than late-term abortions? Will those who
oppose abortion eventually accept that it is legal, and instead work to limit the number of
abortions? Or is the issue too clearcut, with those who oppose abortion believing no
compromise is possible?
