ST. DAVID – Carmen D. Cla-vette, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born Jan. 9, 1928, in St. David, the daughter of the late Firmin and Marie (Caron) Dumond. Carmen was a communicant of St. David Church and was a lifetime member of les Dame de St.-Anne. In her earlier years she really enjoyed dancing with all her friends at la Maison Acadienne. Carmen was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, James Y. Cyr and his wife, Anna Mae, of St. David and Roland T. Cyr and his wife, Linda, of Allagash; two daughters, Jeanne Gagnon and her husband, Robert, of St. David and Paula Cyr and her companion, Herbert Boutilier, of Smyrna Mills; one sister, Rita Bosse of St. David; one brother, Rosaire Dumond and his wife, Robertine, of Lewiston; eight grandchildren, Tom Gagnon, Lisa Cyr, Lindsay Cyr, Cindy Daigle, Vicky Cyr, Suzelle Allain and her husband, Luke, Ross Gagnon and Davis Cyr; three great-grandchildren, Michelle Daigle, Connor Daigle and McKenzie Daigle; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, Abel Cyr and her second husband, Leo Clavette, she was predeceased by four brothers, Freeman Dumond, Bertrand Dumond, Gilman Dumond and Armand Dumond; and two sisters, Jeannette Levesque and Gilberte Beaulieu. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at St. David Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and noon until the time of services Saturday at Daigle Funeral Home, Madawaska. Interment will be after at the parish cemetery.
