HARTLAND – Lawrence R. Gallagher Jr., 58, died unexpectedly May 21, 2009, at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1950, in Bath, a son of Lawrence R. and Edith (King) Gallagher Sr. He graduated from Morse High School, Bath, and after high school, enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving honorably for one year. He was predeceased by his father. Larry is survived by his mother and stepfather, Edith and Malcolm Miller of Bath; two daughters, Miranda K. Merrill and husband, Eric, of Hartland and Juanita Gallagher of Damariscotta; two stepsons, Richard Henward Jr. and wife, Leona, of Westbrook and Charles Henward of Stetson; three brothers, David Gallagher and wife, Helen, of Bristol, Timothy Gallagher of Sabattus and Michael Gallagher of Mesa, Ariz.; two grandsons, Richard and Andrew Henward of Westbrook; several nieces and nephews. Graveside committal services with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at the new cemetery at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
