BUCKSPORT – John Willard White, 80, passed away May 26, 2009, with his loving wife of 53 years and his sons by his side. Born Dec. 26, 1928, in Bar Harbor, John was the son of Emily (Norwood) and John T. White. John fought a long, long battle with emphysema. John was a medic at Valley Forge Hospital while in the U.S. Army. He worked many years in the shoe business both as a worker and as a foreman in the production of shoes sold as Old Maine Trotters. John then began carpentering with his brother. He built two family camps on Molasses Pond, Eastbrook, at which he and his family and friends spent many happy years. He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Fred K. White and his wife, Freda. He is survived by his wife, “Bobbie” Roberta Jordan and their three children, Vicki L. White of Delray Beach, Fla., Jay R. White and his special friend, Brenda, and Kris A. White and his special friend, Terry, both of Bucksport; grandchildren, Felicia, twins, John and Michael; and one nephew, Thom and wife, Michala White, of Bar Harbor. At John’s request, there will be a private graveside service at Riverview Cemetery, North Bucksport, at a later date. Those who wish may donate to Hancock County Home Care & Hospice, P.O.
