SEARSMONT – Wellington “Wimpy” C. Warman, 86, died May 28, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born May 13, 1923, in Greenville Junction, the son of Wellington W. and Laura May (Bolstridge) Warman. He was a member and past great sachem of International Order of the Redmen and a member of Faith Bible Baptist Church, Searsmont. Wimpy was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and telling fish stories. He got a deer every year, even if some were at night. He loved gardening when he was healthy, loved life and spending time with his family. Wimpy was predeceased by his first wife of 58 years, Geneva “Jean” Warman; also three sons, Wellington W. Jr. and twins, Daniel and Donald. He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Keniston) Warman of Searsmont; six children, Beverly and Roger Pickering of Belfast, Mildred and Russell Colby Jr. of Belfast, Judy and husband, Greg Peavey, and Jeanie Ward, all of Tarpon Springs, Fla., William C. and Lynn Warman of Brooks, and Janet and Herman Paul of Waldo; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Warman of Arkansas; three stepchildren, Joanne Sabins and Lorraine Walker, both of Belfast, and George Bowen of Buckfield; and several step-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, with the Rev. Jim Evans officiating.
