EASTPORT – Marylou Morang, 79, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. Marylou was born May 4, 1930, in Eastport, daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Cheverie) Malloch. She was educated in the Eastport area schools and married Alfred L. Morang Sr. in November 1947. Marylou was an active member of Blakey United Methodist Church and enjoyed going for walks and talking with her many friends. She was family oriented, and especially loved being around her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marylou was predeceased by a grandson, Alfred Morang III; and a sister, Eleanor. Surviving are her two sons, Alfred “Skip” Morang Jr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Charlotte and David Morang and his wife, Vicki, of Eastport; a brother, Charles Cheverie and his wife, Angela, of Satellite Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Patricia Graffam and her husband, David, of Levant, Timothy Morang of Pleasant Point, David Morang Jr. and his fianc?e, Shannon, of Edmunds and Daniel Morang and his wife, Julie, of Edmunds; nine great-grandchildren, Jesse, Regan, Adam, Rhiannon, Mallory, Kaylie, Ashlee, Gabby and Peyton; a special family friend, Judith Cleaves of Perry; many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Bayside Cemetery, Eastport. Donations in Marylou’s memory may be made to Blakey United Methodist Church, Eastport, ME 04631.
