EDDINGTON – On April 8, 2009, Paul went to the big camp in the sky. He is free of pain and can go fishing anytime he wants. He left behind, for now, his children, Steve, Chery, Beth and Dan. They were the loves of his life. They came first in all his thoughts. His extended family included friends from all walks of life. He shared his love of “camp” with all. His biscuits with butter and honey or molasses would melt in your mouth. Hunting for deer, moose or the elusive partridge was another reason to be at camp. Then it was time for the men to be men! Paul, his sons and Paul’s friends would spend the week hunting, eating, laughing and doing guy “stuff.” The memories they made are now passed down as “do you remember when” stories. When he decided to hunker down and spend three months of winter at camp, he was a content man. He’d venture out to Spec Pond to ice fish, watch the eagles and just enjoy being surrounded by all that nature had to offer. He’d sit by the window and watch his “gorbies” – Canadian Jays, chickadees and finches enjoy their seed meal. Sometimes the “bog river bunny” would make an appearance to eat scraps of veggies. He and Ray built a wonderful monument to “the way life should be.” He spent many good and creative years at MPBN, WLBZ and other TV stations throughout the past 40-plus years. He was good at what he did. With a little verbal leverage, he could fix anything. He was a member of Pine State Amateur Radio Club. His call sign was K1AKJ. He could build or repair most anything. His cedar chests and toy chests were works of art. All his woodworking was masterful, although he’d say, “Anyone can do it!” He was a humble man, a man of few words, a man with a wonderful sense of humor, a man unafraid to laugh, love, and cry. His gentle ways will be missed by all. “Happy birthday my friend!” June 7, 1935 – April 8, 2009 88, Dot, Griz and Bonnie
