MACHIASPORT – Allen L. Crowley, 74, died June 10, 2009, at a Machias hospital. He was born July 11, 1934, in Gouldsboro, the son of Harold and Ina (Rolfe) Crowley. Allen was employed by GE Golding for 20 years and he was a member of Machiasport Fire Department for 55 years, where he was fire chief for 22 years. He was a member of IBFA Association, Larrabee Baptist Church and Red Men Association. Allen was very active in the town of Machiasport. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Crowley; one very special daughter, Rena LaPointe and her husband, Jack, of Machiasport; one special grandson, Trent Pottle of Florida; one great-grandson, Brett Pottle; a great-granddaughter, Ashley; one brother, Babe Crowley and his wife, Pam, of Corea; one sister, Amelia Page of Hancock; one sister-in-law, Asenath Launier of Machiasport; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 12, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home’s new location, 220 Court St., Machias. A funeral service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Larrabee Baptist Church, Machiasport.
