CARIBOU – Eugene E. Robbins Sr., 74, died June 11, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, in Caribou. He was born Feb. 7, 1935, in Maynardville, Tenn., the son of the late Andrew and Eller (Buckner) Robbins. Mr. Robbins served with the U.S. Air Force for 16 years and was employed by Crown Park Inn, Caribou, for many years. He married Carol Ruth Bubar April 5, 1956. Gene enjoyed simple things, good company and was an avid fisherman. He often spoke of his hope of getting well enough again to share these experiences with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was well loved by all of his family and he will be greatly missed. Surviving in addition to his wife of more than 53 years, Carol of Caribou, are two sons, Craig and Douglas Robbins, both of Caribou; two daughters, Becky Bell and her husband, Douglas, and Susan Ennis, all of Caribou; one sister, Lois Bruner of South Allentown, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Holly, Kimberley and Jennifer Robbins, Kristi, Dan and Doug Bell Jr., Timothy and Bobbie Jo Robbins and Edward Bell; seven great-grandchildren, Keane, Kylie and Gabriel Drost, Katie Ouellette, Caleb and Elizabeth Robbins and Chandler Bell; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Robbins was predeceased by his son, Eugene Jr. Friends may visit with the family 2 p.m. until the time of services Monday, June 15, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where memorial services will be held 3 p.m. with the Rev.
