BLUE HILL – Charles John Nimorwicz, 86, died June 9, 2009, surrounded by his children and his loving, kind and attentive caretakers at his home. He was born Nov. 3, 1922, at home in New York City, the son of Francis and Julia (Irwinska) Niemirowicz. Charles met his wife, Carol, at a USO dance while training with the 507th Parachute Infantry in Alliance, Neb. He was a proud veteran of World War II. After jumping into Normandy on D-Day, he fought in the Ardennes, Central Europe and the Rhineland. After his discharge, Charles and Carol married and settled in Northern New Jersey. Charles spent most of his career in the photo services division at E.I. DuPont. After retirement he and Carol moved first to Long Beach Island, N.J., then to Southport, N.C., and finally to Blue Hill. Charles is survived by his son, George Nimorwicz and wife, Carole, of North Carolina; daughter, Pamela Siewers and husband, Ralph, of Sedgwick; grandchildren, Jason Nimorwicz and wife, Elena, Adam Nimorwicz and wife, Lisa, and Sarah O’Callahan and husband, Cammy; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Carter Nimorwicz; and brother, Julius Nimorwicz and wife, Doris, of Florida. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Carol Hare; and brothers, Frank Nemara and Stanley Niemirowicz. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
