SPRINGFIELD – Charles C. Munson, 76, died June 18, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Prentiss, the son of Raymond and Helen (Cole) Munson. Charles enjoyed working on cars, going to the Springfield Fair, fishing and riding around looking for wildlife. He liked the outdoors, had a heart of gold and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by three brothers, Norman of Millinocket, Avon of Springfield and Fred of Searsport; three sisters, Joyce Thibodeau, Marjorie Worster, both of Springfield and Lois Thibodeau of Old Town; four grandchildren, Mike, Eric, Stephanie and Jennifer Hasenbank; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Caleb and Macy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Connie Munson; three brothers, Carl, Millage and Richard; two sisters, Grace Downs and Alice Worster; and a great-grandson, Alex Joseph. Friends may call 10 a.m.-noon Monday, June 22, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held noon Monday with the Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Interment will be at Village Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to help with funeral expenses. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
