GREENSBORO, N.C. — Austin Michaud, a sophomore from Hampden Academy, won the 1-mile race walk during the Nike Outdoor Nationals track and field meet held at North Carolina A&T University on Friday.
Michaud was timed in 8 minutes, 29.01 seconds to edge second-place Levi Johnson, a sophomore from Massabesic High School in Waterboro who was timed in 8:33.68.
In the high school women’s race, Emily Reed of Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, finished fourth in 9:10.72.
All three Maine competitors earned Nike All-American high school track and field awards.
