BANGOR – Linda M. Quimby, 60, completed her journey on Earth June 19, 2009, at a local health care facility after a brief illness. She was born July 24, 1948, in Lincoln, the first born child of Clarence and Pauline (Ardine) Carr. Linda had a kind, open-minded spirit and made friends wherever she went. She modeled tolerance and to use laughter to guide through difficult times. She spent 25 years putting her full energy into providing opportunities for adults with mental illness. Her fulfillment came from time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She is survived by her life partner, Richard Lancaster, of Bangor; her children, Lisa Dorr of Levant, Wayne Quimby of Bangor, David Quimby of Brewer and Beth and her husband, Josh Cottrell, of Brewer; her brothers and sisters, Louise Eldridge, Cynthia and her husband, Frank Clark, Susan Carr, Caryn Murphy, Russell Carr, David Carr, and Jon Carr and his wife, Kathie; her grandchildren, Lyndsi and Jacob Dorr, Alex Quimby, Sedona and Ali Cottrell; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and Richard Lancaster’s daughter, Chessie and her husband, Jason Kohr, and their three children, Ethan, Emma and Elizabeth.
