BREWER and HERMON – Regina Colleen “Coke” (Decesaro) Eddy, 79, passed peacefully June 20, 2009, surrounded by her family, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gene Colman. She was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Bangor, to Robert and Lillian (Curley) Decesaro. Whether you called her Mom, Grammie, Gram, Nana, Colleen or Coke, you always knew that she was devoted to her family and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The center of life for Colleen was her kitchen and rarely would one find an empty chair at her table. However, there was always room for one more for a cup of hot tea or coffee and perhaps, “just one” whoopie pie. She had a head full of recipes and was very willing to share if you “didn’t need it in writing” or “exact measurement.” She was always a wonderful listener and might offer her opinion if asked. A great supporter of her children and grandchildren, she would abide by whatever decisions they made. She was a charter member and the first president of Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie No. 3177 and developed many lifelong friendships there. Colleen is survived by her sister, Barbara (Nina) Shamberger and her husband, Tom; children, Thomasina (Harris) Watson and her husband, Jim, Monica Harris Bronson, Deborah (Harris) Colman and her husband, Gene, Roxanne (Harris) Sawyer and her husband, Donald Jr., Martin Allen Harris and Dee Nolet-Fiori, Karen (Harris) Ward and her husband, Thomas, John Eddy and Sharon Hoover, and Renee Eddy; grandchildren, Melanie (Bronson) Kollman and her husband, John, Gina (Thompson) McCarthy and her husband, Rory, Jamie Watson and his wife, Alicia, Donnie Sawyer and his wife, Karen, David Harris and wife, Holly, Piper Thompson, Emilie Bronson, Diane Harris, Ashley Munrow, Renee True, and Brett and Brent Eddy; great-grandchildren, Reggie, Rubie, Lily and Henry Kollman, Riley McCarthy, Kallie and Gabriel Thompson, Cooper Sawyer, Cahrey, Lexi and David Harris, Brooklyn Sullivan, and Chase and Josette Hartley; nieces, Lillian Martin, Stacy Shamberger and Julie Shamberger; nephew, James Martin; best friend, Mary Hadley; and daughter of the heart, Sally Spellman Thorne. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley M. Eddy; son, David P. Harris; stepson, Paul J. Eddy; sister, Philomene Martin; and brothers, Robert “Sonny” Decesaro and James “Jay Jay” Decesaro. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25. Interment will be private. Those wishing to remember Colleen in a special way may make gifts in her memory to New Hope Hospice, P.O.
