A large portion of Maine’s share of federal stimulus funding is going to resurfacing the

northbound lanes of I-295 between Topsham and Gardiner this summer (the southbound

lanes were repaved last summer). Is this a vital transportation link that must be in top

shape for commerce and tourism, or should road work in Maine have focused on rural

areas?
