BUCKSPORT and FRANKLIN – Marjorie Anne Forrest, 72, passed away unexpectedly June 29, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 27, 1936, in Massachusetts, the daughter of George and Vera Hovey. She was a graduate of Walpole High School, Class of 1955. After graduating she attended beauty school and started her working career as a hairdresser. She went on to hold various other positions, including working for Dexter Shoe, Milo, to working at the now closed, Anna’s Restaurant once located in Bucksport. Most importantly though, Marge dedicated her life to raising her children and ensuring that they were loved, nurtured and cared for. She resided in Maine for most of her life, minus her childhood years in Massachusetts and a short time spent in Florida. Marge enjoyed crafts and craft making with a particular talent in crochet. She was also known for her budgeting expertise and on more than one occasion was able to stretch a dollar well beyond its means. She enjoyed being around family, reminiscing and making people laugh with the previous exploits she had participated in. She is survived by two children, Michael Forrest and his wife, Lynne, of Bucksport, and Kim Mills and her husband, John, of Franklin; a brother, Joe Hovey and his wife, Terry, of Bucksport; a brother, Richard Hovey and his wife, Bobby, of Vacaville, Calif.; a sister, Shirley Touzin of Bucksport; three grandchildren, Bryan and Taylor Mills and Mason Forrest; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family will gather for visitation noon until the time of the funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Burial will be after the service at Riverview Cemetery, Bucksport.
