BANGOR and DIXMONT – Jeannie Alberta Anderson, 54, passed away July 4, 2009, at a Bangor hospital after a courageous, lifelong illness. Jeannie was born June 6, 1955, in St. David, to Harry D. and Doris B. (Pelletier) Anderson. Jeannie attended Houlton schools before moving to the Bangor area. She attended the University of Maine and Bates College, where she earned an associate degree. Jeannie worked in social work and as a nurse’s aide for the majority of her life. She enjoyed many arts and crafts, including making stained glass pieces and many wonderful paintings. She also enjoyed camping, animals and spending time e-mailing friends on Facebook. Jeannie was an active member of Church of the Nazarene, Bangor, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, niece and friend to all. Jeannie is survived by her father, Harry D. Anderson of Dixmont; her siblings, Cindi McNutt and husband, Michael, of Houlton, Thomas Anderson of Concord, N.H., and Gayle Flye of Newport; nieces and nephews, Cameron and Michael McNutt of Houlton and Jaclyn Flye of Newport; a very special aunt, who Jeannie thought of as a sister, Leona and Vernon Chabr? of Glenburn; three special cousins, Kelly, Michael and Jason Chabr?; a close friend, Debbie Boisvert; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends too numerous to mention; and her faithful canine companion, Emma. Jeannie was predeceased by her mother, Doris B. Anderson in 2008. Family and friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, with the Rev. Dick Woehr officiating. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
