BRUNSWICK – Rachel Erin Mooney, 25, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at Central Maine Medical Center from injuries as a result of a car accident. She was born April 21, 1984, in Portland, daughter of John T. and Nancy A. Hughes Mooney. She attended Brunswick schools and was a graduate of Maine School of Science and Mathematics, Limestone. She attended the University of Maine at Farmington. Rachel worked for Coffee by Design, Portland, and had recently begun work at Fish Bowl Farm, Bowdoinham. Through high school she participated in swimming and drama. She loved spending time with her friends, enjoyed music and the arts, and she adored children. Rachel had a bubbly personality, beautiful smile, liberal mind and a wonderful sense of humor. She could light up a room with her enthusiasm for life and earnestness. She was passionate about her sense of what was the right thing to do. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Joan M. Hughes of Bangor. She is survived by her parents, John and Nancy Mooney of Brunswick; two brothers, Nathan Mooney of Portland and John Mooney of Brunswick; and her grandparents, Robert and Sally Ivers of Brewer. She had many cousins and loved spending time with her extended family at reunions and celebrations with her parents. Friends and family may visit 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Interment will be private.
