VEAZIE – Stephen M. Cust, 64, died July 13, 2009, at a Brewer health care facility. He was born Feb. 9, 1945, in Bangor, the son of Ralph and Grace (Murphy) Cust. Stephen was educated at St. John’s and John Bapst Memorial High School. He enjoyed singing and sung at many weddings and funerals, and worked at Bangor YMCA. Stephen loved cars, trains and boats, and loved to travel to such places as the Caribbean and Key West. He loved all cats – domestic and wild. As a youth he was in the Boy Scouts. Stephen is survived by his sister, Sandra Fowler of Bangor; his nieces, Pam Wells and her spouse, Bryan, of Old Town and Robin Fowler and her spouse, Cory Pratt, of Unity; and his special friend, Jerry Buda of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. Interment will be afterward at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the church vestry after the interment.
