AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Gov. John Baldacci is heading home Monday from the National Governors Association meeting in Mississippi.
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour hosted the four-day session that opened Friday and ran through the weekend in the Gulf Coast city of Biloxi.
The gathering highlighted a yearlong initiative by chairman Edward Rendell, the governor of Pennsylvania, that focused on rebuilding, repairing and maintaining a national infrastructure system.
A Sunday session devoted to emergency preparedness in the states will feature U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
