LITTLETON – Charles B. Flewelling, 66, died July 20, 2009, at Houlton Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Houlton, son of the late Ivan and Viola Flewelling; and stepfather, Arthur Flewelling. He grew up in Houlton. In later years, he moved to Massachusetts and did carpentry work. He returned to Maine in 1991, continuing in carpentry and farming. He enjoyed his grandchildren, four-wheeling, camping, woodworking and mechanics. He served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman and paratrooper. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Carmichael) Flewelling of Littleton; two sons, Robert Flewelling and his wife, Judy, of Mattawamkeag, and Mark Flewelling and his wife, Amanda, of Old Town; daughters, Shelley Bouvier and her partner, Larry McAfee, Kimberly Lopez and her husband, Ismael, all of Massachusetts, and Heather Way and her husband, Josh, of Houlton; grandchildren, Robert, Jonathan, Gerome, Tyson, Corbin, Danica, Zachary, Johnathan, Marcel, Felicia, Katrina, Joshua, Mia, Michael and his partner, Emily, Chris and his wife, Kalie, Lucas, Matthew, Matt Zane, and Holly; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Christopher, Jordyn, Natalia and Destiny; six brothers and their wives, Douglas of Houlton, Gerald and Sue of Woodstock, Thomas and Charlene of Houlton, Anthony of Houlton, Roger and Debbie of Houlton, and John and Debbie of Houlton; five sisters, Roberta Silliboy of Littleton, June Rideout of New Hampshire, Mildred Hanning and her husband, Kenneth, Linda Randall, and Sandra Hayes and her husband, Robert, all of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Freddie Flewelling; sister-in-law, LouAnn; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Silliboy and Thomas Rideout. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday with Bernie Jordan officiating. Interment will be at Littleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Association, 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330.
