LOWER BURRELL, Pa. -Leona Marie Murch May, 73, formerly of Maine, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009. She was born Jan. 21, 1936, in Franklin, daughter of the late Charles J. and Phyllis P. DeBeck Murch Jr. She had lived in Lower Burrell, Pa., since 2006 and had previously resided in Crossville, Tenn. Leona had been a crypt analyst for the National Security Agency, Department of Defense at Fort Meade, Md., and had been an administrative assistant for the U.S. Air Force. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed music, especially the piano. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Albert W. May; children, Dr. Stephanie A. May and husband, John DeMontigny, of Neenah, Wis., and Peter A. May and wife, Jennifer, of Plum Boro, Pa.; grandchildren, Simone Aurelie and Maxim Armand DeMontigny, Jessie Albert and Sophia Lee May; and siblings, Delores and husband, Dennis York, of New Jersey, Charles Murch III, Marilyn and husband, Donald Haslan, of Trenton, Irene and husband, Richard Soper, of Maine, Sidney Murch and wife, Carmelle, of New Hampshire and Wayne Murch and wife, Martha, of Franklin. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Leona’s life will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at Georges Pond, Franklin.
